This Privacy Policy explains how the Kloshu app (“Kloshu”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our marketplace and social video services (the “Service”) on Android, iOS, and the web.
If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

2) Summary of what we collect
We collect information you provide directly, information generated by your use of the Service, and certain information collected automatically by the SDKs and services we use to run the app.
2.1 Information you provide
- Name / display name

- User ID
- Optional phone number
- Optional profile photo

Account and profile
User content
- Listings you create (titles, descriptions, photos/videos)
- Social clips and short videos you post (captions, hashtags, tagged products, comments, likes, reposts)
- Messages and attachments you send in chat (text, images, videos, audio, documents)
- Reviews/ratings and reports you submit
- Support tickets and messages
- Social graph data when you follow or unfollow other users
Payments and purchases
If you purchase sponsorships or paid features, we store purchase records (for example order IDs, provider status, and receipt/token information required to verify the payment).
2.2 Information collected automatically
Device and app identifiers
Our infrastructure and SDKs may collect device/app instance identifiers used for authentication, fraud prevention, analytics, and advertising (for example Firebase identifiers and Google Mobile Ads identifiers).
App activity
We may collect information about how you interact with the Service, such as screens you view, features you use, in-app searches, social feed interactions (views, likes, watch time, follows), and listing engagement to measure performance and improve the app.
Diagnostics
We collect crash reports and performance diagnostics to keep the app stable and secure.

Precise location (optional)
If you grant device location permission, we may access your GPS-based location to power location-based features.
Approximate location
Your approximate location may be inferred by third-party SDKs (for example from IP address or network signals) for advertising and analytics.

- Account management: create and maintain your account, log you in, and secure access.
- App functionality: create listings, upload media, post social clips, enable chat, show feeds (including personalized social feeds), compute distances, and deliver notifications.
- Content safety: automated and human review of listings, chat, and social clips to detect abuse, spam, prohibited items, nudity, counterfeit brands, drugs, and policy violations before or after publication.
- Fraud prevention, security, and compliance: detect abuse/spam, enforce marketplace safety rules, prevent unauthorized access, and comply with legal obligations.
- Analytics: understand how features are used so we can improve reliability and usability.
- Advertising: show ads in the app (where enabled), limit frequency, and measure performance.
- Developer communications: send essential communications about your account and service updates.
- Personalization: customize the Service, such as localizing content by country or improving relevance of listings.

4) How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to provide the Service, comply with law, or protect users and the platform.
4.1 Service providers / processors
- Google Firebase / Google Cloud (authentication, database, storage, functions, messaging, analytics, crash reporting, App Check)
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) (ad serving and measurement)
- Payment providers and platforms (e.g., M-Pesa/Safaricom where applicable, Pesapal checkout, Google Play Billing, Apple Pay token verification)
We use third-party providers to operate the Service. These providers may process data on our behalf under their terms and security controls, including:
4.2 Legal and safety
We may disclose information if required by law or to investigate abuse, fraud, security incidents, or to protect users and our rights.
5) Advertising
Kloshu may display ads using Google Mobile Ads (AdMob). Ad services may collect or receive device identifiers and approximate location signals to show and measure ads, prevent fraud, and limit frequency.
6) Payments and financial information
We do not store raw credit card numbers in Kloshu databases. Payment processing is handled by payment providers and platform stores. We store purchase records, order IDs, provider status, and the minimum receipt/token information required to verify and fulfill purchases.
7) Messaging, social clips, and user-generated content
Chat messages, social clips, comments, and media you post are stored to deliver the Service. Content may be processed by automated safety systems (including image, video, and text analysis) to detect abuse, spam, prohibited products, nudity, explicit content, counterfeit brands, drugs, or other policy violations before publication or after reports. We may log moderation outcomes, watermarked video derivatives, and security events. Clips are subject to length and size limits and may be transcoded with a visible platform watermark.
8) Location controls
You can withdraw location permission at any time in your device settings. If you do not grant location permission, some features may not work.
9) Analytics and crash reporting
We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand feature usage and improve stability. These services may collect device or app instance identifiers, diagnostics, and event data.
10) Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and maintain platform safety.
11) Security
We use industry-standard protections such as encryption in transit (TLS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
12) Your rights and choices
- Access and update: you can update profile details in the app.
- Delete your account: you can request deletion by using the in-app delete account flow or by contacting us.
- Notifications: you can control push notification permissions in device settings.
- Location: you can grant or revoke location permission at any time in device settings.

13) Children’s privacy
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children.
14) Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version in the app and update the effective date.
